Hi! Welcome to Six Corners Collective! My name is Jenny Lewis and like most people, I have lots of roles in my life: wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, yogi, coach, teacher, student, and the list could endlessly go on.
I created this space because 15+ years ago I fell in love with yoga. It has opened doors that I never knew existed allowing me to learn and grow. I stepped on to my yoga mat for the first time when I was pregnant with my oldest child. It was love at first “om.” I had never experienced chanting in unison with my peers and the vibration of the sound resonated to the core of my being. I learned to move my body through various shapes and poses which were all unfamiliar and yet simultaneously felt like coming home.
I continued practicing yoga after having my children. My yoga mat was a place I found myself returning to again and again. A friend of mine mentioned she was going to start yoga teacher training. The seed was planted. I started exploring options for yoga teach teacher training (YTT) and eventually signed up. In this space, more ideas and
concepts were shared with me in the training and while I’d originally entered the
program to deepen my own practice, I knew it was something I wanted to share with
others. Upon completion of my first 200 hour YTT I began teaching yoga at various
gyms and studios.
During my first YTT, (yes, I did a second one to experience the teachings from a different perspective), I was exposed to additional healing modalities including Yoga Nidra and holistic nutrition. Both piqued my interest. I enrolled in Yoga Nidra (sleep based guided meditation) facilitator training as well as a holistic nutrition practitioner program. Again, my mind was blown with the information and healing experienced through both programs. I knew I wanted to share this information with anyone open to learning about it.
After receiving my certification in both, I began offering Yoga Nidra at a local yoga studio. To utilize my holistic nutrition certification, I opened my own coaching business and partnered with a local naturopathic physician office.
Fast forward to today. My family moved to a different state and as a result I needed to recreate what my business looked like. Now, I’m able to offer all my services: yoga, coaching and yoga nidra both online and in person. Creating an experience unique to each person I work with is what I strive to do. I understand what it’s like to step on a yoga mat for the first time not understanding any of the words or cues being said. I know how hard it is to start (and maintain) a meditation practice. And last, but definitely not least, creating healthy and sustainable habits is hard work. I want to partner with you to help you feel your best. We’ll experiment and play to find out what that looks like for you.
Thank you so much for taking a moment to learn more about Six Corners Collective and myself!
